David Marks' work expresses a sense of time and mystery. His inspirations are derived from a fusion of styles including ancient Egyptian, African, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Asian. But essential to all his designs is the attention paid to fine details.

David J Marks School on Facebook
Our school offers both hands on group classes in woodworking and woodturning, as well as private classes.
GROUP CLASSES: Each class will have 3 - 10 students and will be held in David's Workshop/Studio in Santa Rosa, California.
PRIVATE CLASSES: David offers private classes which provide one-on-one instruction. The advantage of the private class is that it is completely tailored to suit your individual skill level, interests, and needs. In addition, there is more flexibility in scheduling dates for one-on-one class sessions which can range from one day to five days. You can pick any subject or subjects to focus on, such as band sawn veneers, bentwood lamination, wood turning, dovetails, double-bevel marquetry, sharpening hand tools, wood carving, gold leafing, patinas on metal, working with the vacuum press, working with commercial veneers, fixing mistakes, design elements, etc. The class takes place in David’s workshop/studio in which he taped the television show "Wood works"

David Visits Texas
David was making a grand tour of all of the Texas Woodcraft stores and spent a total of 5 hours presenting to a standing-room-only crowd of about 75 people. I took some pictures and madly scribbled notes as David went through each part of his presentation. As he started, he seemed a little nervous, but as he got into the swing and the crowd made it’s respect for his work evident, he relaxed and I think had as good a time as we did. My notes don’t strictly follow the timeline of the presentation because snippets of genius came out all through the day. This page is longer than most on my site because I want to make sure I get all of his wisdom preserved for eternity.
